Known limitations and what is coming

Every app has a list of things it does not do. Most keep quiet about it. This is ours, so you can decide whether Vesari Stylus suits you before spending anything on it.

One thing colours everything below: none of this touches playback. Core playback is never gated. Your whole library plays on every tier, in every state, uncapped.

ASIO output is not in the build

The Output mode picker in Settings, Playback lists ASIO greyed out, labelled ASIO (not available in this build). ASIO sits behind a build option and the installers we ship are made without it, so no driver you install will light it up. It is planned rather than dropped, and it belongs to the Lifetime tier when it lands.

Until then the direct route to a USB DAC is WASAPI Exclusive, which is itself a Lifetime feature. Choose it without that tier and the picker says so: the setting stays where you put it, and playback runs in Shared mode until you upgrade. See ASIO is greyed out in the output list.

There is no native DSD or DoP

The app has no DSD over PCM path. A .dsf or .dff file plays by being decoded to PCM first, so what reaches your DAC is PCM rather than the original one-bit stream. If sending DSD to your DAC untouched is why you are here, this build will not do it.

No convolution, no room correction

You cannot load an impulse response, a room-correction filter or a headphone correction profile. What exists today is the parametric EQ (up to 32 biquad bands), the ten-band graphic EQ and BS2B crossfeed, covered in the DSP Rack overview. A convolution engine is on the wish list, not in the build, and carries no date.

Ticket support is not built

Today there is the knowledge base, the help chat that answers from it, and the in-app Report a Bug form in Settings, Support, which does work and does reach us. Ticket support is designed to open for Pro and Lifetime when it ships. We do not promise a reply from a person, or a response time, at any tier. Automatic updating is not switched on

A release build asks whether a newer version exists each time it starts. Today that check finds nothing to talk to and stays quiet, deliberately: an app that cannot reach an update service should not nag you. New versions install by running the current installer over the top of the one you have, which leaves your library, playlists and settings untouched. Tester builds never move themselves onto the public channel, by design. See Updating Vesari Stylus.

Windows x64 only

Vesari Stylus is a 64-bit Windows application: Windows 10 version 1803 or newer, or Windows 11. There is no macOS or Linux build, it will not run on 32-bit Windows, and we are not promising other platforms. See System requirements & compatibility.

We do not make a blanket bit-perfect claim

This is a limit on what we will tell you, not on what the app does. Bit-Perfect mode is in the build today, on the Lifetime tier, and it does real work: it bypasses EQ, crossfeed and ReplayGain and pins volume at full. What no setting can do is prove what your DAC ends up receiving.

So the app reports rather than asserts. The Devices page carries a read-only Bit-perfect row showing the engine's verdict for the current or most recent stream, worked out per stream rather than read off the output mode, and blank until something has played. A shared or ASIO path reads NO because the app cannot follow it end to end, which is not the same as something having spoiled your samples. Smaller limits worth knowing

Music on a network drive or NAS is not watched. New files on a share appear after a manual Rescan Library from Tools. See How scanning works.
A folder added part way through a session joins the watch list at the next launch, not immediately.
Remote access changes need a restart. Turning it on or off, or regenerating the OpenSubsonic password, takes effect on the next launch, and Settings warns you at the time.
There is no Vesari phone app. Remote listening means pointing an OpenSubsonic client such as Symfonium or substreamer at your PC. It is free on every tier and the number of devices is not capped.
The metadata cache and the MusicBrainz mirror are experimental, and labelled that way in Settings.

What "coming" means here

Intended, not scheduled. Naming a month and missing it does more damage than saying "planned, no date" and then shipping. Everything marked as coming is genuinely meant; everything marked as not built is genuinely not there today.
