Is this a bug? How to report it
Something in Vesari Stylus doesn't look right, and you're not sure whether it's a setting on your end or a genuine fault. Here's how to tell the difference - and how to send us a report in seconds if it turns out to be a real bug.
First: is it likely a settings issue?
A lot of "that seems wrong" moments turn out to be normal behaviour or a quick config detail, and those often have a faster answer in the troubleshooting articles:
- A file won't play, or plays silently - surround formats (DTS, AC-3, TrueHD) use a decoder that ships inside the app; if they're silent it was most likely blocked by antivirus. See the no-sound article. Everything else plays out of the box.
- A faint sound leaks into a "silent" channel - that's normal analog crosstalk in your gear, not the app. See the channel separation article.
- The bit-perfect indicator isn't lit - it only appears when the whole chain is genuinely transparent (exclusive output, unity volume, matched sample rate, and so on). See the signal path article.
- A tag or cover looks off after auto-tagging - the tag editor lets you correct it by hand.
If an article covers what you're seeing, start there. If nothing fits - or the app crashes, freezes, or clearly does the wrong thing - treat it as a bug and report it. When in doubt, send it. We'd rather hear from you.
How to report a bug from inside the app
The built-in reporter is the best way to reach us, because it packages the technical detail for you automatically.
- Look for Help or Report a Problem in the app.
- Describe what happened in plain words - that's the only thing you need to fill in.
- Send it.
That's it. The diagnostic detail is attached for you, so you don't need to hunt down any files. No part of that report leaves your computer unless you choose to send it - Vesari Stylus has no background telemetry and never sends diagnostics on its own.
If you can't use the in-app reporter - for example, the app won't start - email us at [email protected] instead. (For anything about payment, refunds, or your licence, use [email protected].)
What makes a report we can act on
A good description answers four quick questions:
- What you did - the steps leading up to it.
- What you expected to happen.
- What actually happened instead.
- Which version you're running (usually shown in the app's About screen).
Even one sentence per point helps enormously. The more precisely we can reproduce it, the faster it gets fixed.
What happens next
Every report is read and used to decide what we fix next, and fixes ship in app updates - so keeping Vesari Stylus up to date is how you receive them. We don't promise a personal reply - see the support section in the tiers article for what we do and don't commit to - but your report genuinely shapes what we work on, and we're grateful for each one.
