Your listening history
Vesari Stylus keeps a quiet record of what you play. There is no page in the app today that lists your plays one by one, but the record is there, it stays on your machine, and it is what the Rediscover shelves on Home are built from.
What gets written down
Each time a track starts, the app adds one line to a play log inside your library database. That line holds the moment it started, the file that played, and a snapshot of the title, artist, album, genre and length as they were right then.
When the play ends, because the next track started or because you stopped playback, the app fills in how many seconds you actually heard. That is what tells a real listen apart from something you clicked straight past. If the app closes mid-track the seconds heard are never filled in, and that play is counted as a listen rather than a skip.
A play counts as a skip only when both of these are true: you heard less than 20 seconds of it, and you heard less than half of it. Both have to hold, so a short interlude you played right through is a genuine listen, not a skip.
Anything the app plays is logged, including a file that is not in your library. Playing over the network to a phone or tablet is not. The remote server accepts the play notification that client apps send and does nothing with it, so listening on another device leaves your history untouched. See Stream your library to your phone.
Where it shows up
Two places you can reach today.
The Rediscover section on Home. Five shelves sit under that heading: forgotten favourites, on this day, new and still unheard, heavy rotation, and back in rotation. The play counts behind them use genuine listens only, so tracks you clicked past do not drag them around. A shelf with nothing to show is left out, and there is a Rediscover Mix button that blends the first three into a queue, with a Save mix link to keep it as a playlist (a paid unlock).
One of those five needs no listening at all. New and still unheard lists tracks added in the last thirty days that you have never genuinely played, so a fresh library can show the Rediscover heading with that single shelf under it before you have played anything. The section only vanishes when every shelf comes up empty. See Rediscovery - surface music you forgot and The Home screen, panel by panel.
Shuffle recently played. The small chevron beside the shuffle button in the bottom bar opens the Shuffle window, and its Recently played section builds a queue from your last few hundred plays, each track counted once, leaving out anything no longer in your library or flagged as damaged. What you will not find is a browsable list of plays, a play count on a track, or a listening statistics page. Those are not in the app yet, so if you have gone hunting for them, you have not missed a button.
Retagging and tidying do not rewrite it
Because each line carries its own snapshot, editing tags later does not change what your history says you were playing at the time.
The link back to the library is kept separately, and kept soft. Remove a track from the library and its plays stay in the log, simply detached from it. Merge duplicate copies in Library Health and the plays move onto the copy you keep, so your listening is not split across two files holding the same recording. It stays local, and it is not editable in the app
The log lives in library.db in your data folder, alongside your playlists and star ratings. The Rediscover shelves are worked out on your own device by querying that file, with no server involved in building them. There is no control in the app today for clearing the log or removing a single play. Deleting the library database clears it, but that takes your playlists, ratings and scan record with it, which is a heavy price for a small tidy-up.
