Your free trial - and what happens when it ends
Every new install starts with a 30-day trial that unlocks the power tools and premium output, and when it ends nothing is taken away from your music.
Here's the part that matters most: the trial never turns into a lockout. When your 30 days are up you don't hit a wall, lose your library, or get asked to pay before the music plays again. You simply move to the permanent Free tier - and your whole collection keeps playing, forever, exactly as it did before.
What the trial gives you
For 30 days you get a real taste of the top tier, on a generous trial allowance (see What the free allowance covers). Explore the power tools for tagging and tidying your library, and the premium output and DSP Rack; Analyze Quality and Discogs enrichment are Lifetime unlocks. It's there so you can hear and feel what the top tier is like before deciding what, if anything, you'd like to own. We keep the trial deliberately generous - no countdown nagging you.
What happens when the trial ends
You drop to the permanent Free tier. That's a soft landing, not a stop.
What you keep - free, forever
Your everyday listening is never gated. On Free you keep, uncapped:
- Playback of your whole library - every track, gapless, for as long as you own the app.
- The graphic and parametric EQ, crossfeed, ReplayGain on playback, CUE sheets, and lyrics.
- Rediscovery shelves - listening and the one-tap Mix - and the honest signal-path badge.
- Anything you tagged or organised during the trial stays done - that work is yours to keep.
No ads, no tracking, no account. That never changes. Starting the trial does record one machine fingerprint on our server, so a trial can't be reset over and over - the privacy article sets out exactly what that stores.
What becomes a capped taste
The library power tools - the heavy-lifting extras - keep working up to the free tier's one-time totals: 100 tracks of auto-tagging (tagging ripped discs draws on the same total), 5 CD rips, 100 tracks of ReplayGain scanning and 25 bulk-edited tracks. The totals are kept per machine - rebuilding your library or reinstalling the app doesn't hand you a fresh allowance - and they never refresh. Flagging duplicates and health issues stays unlimited; the one-tap bulk fix is a paid unlock, and so is keeping a Rediscover Mix as a playlist. When you reach a total, the app simply invites you to upgrade - it never stops your music. What the free allowance covers has the full picture.
The premium output and DSP Rack features stay part of the top tier. To keep those, that's the tier to own.
No dark patterns
There's no timer pressure, no "act now," no interruptions to playback. If you'd like the power tools uncapped, or the premium output for good, upgrading is one calm choice you make on your own time. If you don't, your library plays on, free, for good.
